It takes about 21 days to create a new habit, 21 days of repeated gestures and in the end everything becomes natural and the new habit becomes part of our daily life, this also applies to bad habits.
Last week we have already seen five bad habits in our skincare routine, now let's see the remaining five:
6. Wait to be in the "doors" to use the anti-aging products
At the word antiage everyone is horrified, without exception. It almost seems like a word dedicated to people at least fifty years of age and older, mistake!
It would be excellent if the'use of anti-aging products started already from the age of 25-30, as a preventive action. Remember that your skin must be treated day by day and only your habits will allow you to age without the'nightmare of sagging skin or marked wrinkles.
7. Do not constantly apply the cosmetic treatment
Sometimes if we don't immediately see the results of a treatment we get bored and stop trying to get the desired improvement, or we abuse the product convinced we are speeding up the process, or we look for a more powerful product.
Cosmetic products need time to act on the skin in the desired way and although sometimes, especially for mild ailments, the results are visible after a short time, for certain ailments such as l'severe acne or spot treatment the skin needs time to adapt to the cosmetic treatment and reverse the route. Be patient and don't give up!
8. Use very aggressive detergents
This is a typical mistake, also because few people know what very aggressive detergents are. Detergents of this type are highly foaming and contain the so-called primary anionic surfactants such as sodium laureth sulfate and sodium lauryl sulfate (to mention the best known) which are excellent foam producers, because yes, we like to see a lot of foam while we wash, and they have a high washing power.
Sometimes, however, the detergents containing these surfactants are too aggressive on our skin, especially if we use them often, and can lead to an alteration of the hydrolipidic film and under of dryness and skin irritation.
If you realize that this is happening to you and you experience sensations of discomfort after a shower or bath, then it is appropriate to resort to gentler detergents, which are less aggressive on your skin
9. Use the face cream or serum around the eyes
Perhaps many do not know that the eye area is independent and has different skin structures and mechanisms than the skin of the face.
Only the fact that it surrounds delicate organs such as the eyes should make us think that it should be treated differently than the rest of the face. It is no coincidence that there is an 'entire category on the market dedicated to creams and serums for the eye area, these are formulated with active ingredients suitable for the eye area and for the treatment of conditions involving only this area such as bags or dark circles.
The pH is also different from face creams and is around 7. 0 to respect the tear pH and not irritate the'eye.
10. Do not apply sunscreen also on the ears
L'application of a sun protection factor is very important, in all seasons of the'year, I won't bore you with this concept anymore.
But have you ever thought about the fact that often the'application of the product is limited to the face area only? And the poor ears? And the neck? And the décolleté area? Aren't they also'skin areas that can be affected by the'harmful action of ultraviolet radiation?
Sunscreen should be applied to every exposed surface.
Here, these are five other wrong actions that we very often do, but they are certainly not the last. Let us know if we have forgotten any habits to correct to improve this 2021.
