BAKUCHIOL IS THE NEW RETINOL
Everyone is talking about it and it is already the new anti-wrinkle remedy for beauty addicts. Considering the vegetable botox that all anti-aging creams should contain, bakuchiol is undoubtedly the cosmetic ingredient of the moment.
INCI name "Bakuchiol" - is a plant molecule extracted from Psoralea Corylifolia, a plant of the Indian subcontinent used in numerous Ayurvedic products to stimulate cell regeneration.
Isolated for the first time in 1966, bakuchiol boasts antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and in skincare it is often used as an alternative to retinol as stimulates cell turnover, recompacts the skin and has an anti-stain effect.
Like retinol, bakuchiol, stimulates retinoic acid receptors responsible for the synthesis of type I collagen in the dermis.
A 2018 study that appeared in the British Journal of Dermatology demonstrates that the effects of bakuchiol are similar to those of retinol and that the molecule is also better tolerated by human skin causing less peeling, stinging, burning and itching sensation.
