It takes about 21 days to create a new habit, 21 days of repeated gestures and in the end everything becomes natural and the new habit becomes part of our daily life, unfortunately this also applies to bad habits.
Let's see ten bad skincare habits:
1. Wash your face with water that is too hot or too cold
Like many things, even the skin will not tolerate the extremes: l'using water that is too hot or too cold to wash the face it is never recommended.
Sometimes we are tempted to use 'hot water as it gives us the'idea of greater effective in cleaning, however the'hot water tends to dry out the skin over time. While the'cold water, which gives us an'idea of relief, risks forcing the structures skin and cause redness.
In this case, be wary of your perceptions and trust us when we tell you that use of warm water is ideal for washing your face.
2. Remove make-up with make-up remover wipes without rinsing
Sometimes for a matter of comfort and practicality, especially when travelling, we resort to the'use of make-up remover wipes. These are pieces of spongy material soaked in micellar water or other solutions capable of removing dirt and make-up.
In any case, the make-up remover wipes contain a surfactant , i.e. a substance that cleanses and removes make-up and other agents. Surfactants are molecules that should not remain in contact with the skin for a long time as they could alter the hydrolipidic film or cause minor skin irritations.
For this, once the make-up removal wipe has been carried out, rinse off the residue left on the skin withwarm water .
3. Using chemical peels too frequently
Chemical peels are made up of acids or chemical enzymes, these are excellent for exfoliating the skin, giving brightness and promoting cell turnover, but if you overdo it they can lead to
L'ideal use is at most once a week or every ten days, but it also depends on the requirements of your skin. Listen to it and don't go overboard thinking that using an aggressive product often and for a long time will solve the problem sooner, it's not like that.
4. Go to bed with makeup on or without washing your face
How many times have we arrived home late with a great repudiation for facial cleansing and as we put on our pajamas we thought “oh well, what will it be, for a once” although we all know it's never once. The next morning is a wake-up similar to Morticia Addams complete with makeup residue on the pillow. bad bad bad!
Up until recently, I myself was a great supporter of'going to bed wearing makeup, so much so that the next day I put the mascara back on top of the old one.
From a skin point of view, it is one of the worst things you can do to your skin, which has no way to breathe properly during the night and also imagine it staying in contact for all hours at night with make-up, sebum and smog particles collected during the day. surely he can't be well.
I assure you that removing make-up correctly and applying a good moisturizer changes the'appearance of your skin well before of the 21 needed to make it a'habit and then you won't be able to go to bed wearing makeup, even if it's three in the morning and you drank an extra glass of wine at dinner, promised.
5. Use the same cosmetics all year round
We have already seen that each season has its own environmental characteristics to which leather must adapt, but then, if for each season there are different situations. why should a single cosmetic product be good for the whole'year?
